KID'S TAKE: The Lego Minifigure Factory Experience at Disney Springs

This report was filed by one of OPJ’s junior correspondents.

The Lego Minifigure Factory at the Lego Store in Disney Springs is an experience where you create your own minifigure. It also includes a Lego brick printed with your name (or text of choice). There are 4 steps to the process of making the minifigure. (Review of minifigure itself is at the bottom of the article.)

“LegoPay for your box at the register before you begin creating

First, head to any register to buy a box for your lego minifigure. At the time of writing this article, the box costs $11.99 and it is your ticket into the area where you create your minifigure.

“LegoCustomize your Lego minifigure

Second, you type the text you want printed on your brick and then customize your lego minifigure’s body piece on a computer screen. You can paint on it, add decals, and add text to it using tool menus on the screen. When you are done you press the green button. You must wait for the body piece to print, though.

“LegoPrinting your custom design

Third, you accessorize your minifigure. You can choose 1 head, 1 hair piece, 1 leg piece, and 1 accessory, like a tool or instrument. You also get 1 brick with your custom text printed on it.

Finally, you collect your printed pieces. You then assemble your minifigure and put it in the box you got on the first step.

Review Overall, the process of making the minifigure is pretty fast and easy. The only slight hiccup is the printing takes a while, but that is expected.

The minifigure is also pretty good. All the lego pieces, of course, are high quality plastic. The printing on the front or back of the torso looked good but from other stories I've heard, sometimes the printing on both sides is relatively faded. However, ours looked fine.
