OPINION: Galaxy’s Edge Is Great But I Like to Make Fun of This One Thing

OPINION

I’ve been critical of Disney’s newest land in Orlando, Galaxy’s Edge. I mention my main reason here. It’s actually a well-done and beautiful land that Disney should be proud of. But, there’s one thing in particular that irks me about it.

Boxes. Plain, old, boring boxes.

Quite frankly, much of Galaxy’s Edge expanse is filled with unremarkable props, most notably the boxes. Yes, they’re probably authentic to what an outpost in the Star Wars universe would look like. There’d be lots of cargo about at a smuggler’s spaceport, but it’s still boring.

I don’t blame Disney. At 14 acres, Galaxy’s Edge is a huge land to populate with unique and jaw dropping set pieces. Most of the land is absolutely gorgeous (expect an article about it soon, along with our take on Rise of the Resistance). But, come on. Do we need that many boxes!? And they don’t even double as benches we could use to get off our feet, relax, and enjoy the views.

Behold, for your viewing pleasure, the boxes of Batuu.

If you’re bored of boxes, they even have barrels!

And boxes and barrels together! Lots of them!

Disney should really consider renaming the land to Box Spire Outpost...
