SeaWorld Attendance Up
SeaWorld stocks rallied after word broke that park attendance rose by 2% over the past three months. In an internal memo to employees that went public, CEO Sergio Rivera shared the good news that the park’s popularity has increased and that record attendance numbers had been reached on several days this quarter. Rivera was named CEO just this last fall after former CEO Gustavo Antorcha resigned after disagreements with the board, which likes to get involved in company decision making. Rivera also promised continuing improvements into 2020. Only time will tell if his predictions come true.
Disney Hosting Marathon Soon
The runDisney Health and Fitness Expo starts today at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in the Orlando area. The four-day event is open to the general public and features a marathon, event-themed merchandise, and food and beverages like lettuce wraps and protein bites. The rundisney Interactive Zone will be held in the Visa Athletic Center and will host many exhibitors from fitness and wellness companies, beer tastings, and more.
