Jan 18, 2020: Pro Bowl, Lunar, Epcot Delay

NFL Pro Bowl at Disney’s ESPN Complex

Any theme park fans that are also pro football fans may want to head to Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Disney World Resort. For the third consecutive year the event that celebrates the top NFL players and fan favorites will be held in Orlando. Although the game is at Camping World Stadium on January 26, many of the festivities leading up to it are being held at Disney. Watch the official team practices on January 22, 23, and 25 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Then check out the Pro Bowl Pep Rally at Disney Spring Marketplace Stage. Food, beverages, and merchandise will be available at the events. See the full schedule here.

Lunar New Year at Disney

This Jot is not news, per se, but more of a curiosity. Disney has been promoting its Lunar New Year events at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim California and Shanghai Disneyland in China pretty hard leading up to the holiday. Currently, there are two (two!) articles on Disney’s main blog about the event. That’s half of the currently featured posts. They advertise special food, fashion, merchandise, music ,art, and even a parade to celebrate the lunar new year. What’s interesting is that there’s not much going on at Disney World Resort to commemorate the event across the Disney World parks that we could find. We thought our best chances were to look for themed merch at the China pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase but found nothing. It’s possible we overlooked something. If you find any signs of the lunar new year at Disney World Resort, like us know on Twitter or Facebook.

Delayed Openings of Festival Booths at Epcot

This Jotter got to Epcot early yesterday to take part in the International Festival of the Arts that opened at Epcot. The food and art we experienced was top notch and we will write more on that later. We also noticed that two of the food booths had technical difficulties and didn’t open until after 5 pm. We were unable to get food at Deconstructed Dish and Pop Eats! until the evening, when they finally opened. It was worth the wait but left us wondering what happened to delay the opening. One of our favorites from the festival so far is the Panna Cotta in the Canada pavilion. Also starting at Epcot yesterday was the opening of three films Awesome Planet, Canada Far and Wide, and Beauty and the Beast Sing Along.
