Jan 12, 2020: Crisis Fund, Popcorn Bucket, ROTR

SeaWorld Crisis Fund

SeaWorld is making efforts to help wildlife affected by the massive bushfires that are burning in Australia. SeaWorld is helping to create the new Emergency Animal Crisis Grant for Minton Farm Animal Rescue Centre as part of the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund. The grant will go towards purchasing medicine and medical supplies used to treat sick and injured animals, including those affected by the fires.

Millennium Falcon Popcorn Bucket

We reported that the Millennium Falcon popcorn holders made it to Disney Springs on Friday, January 10th. We can now confirm the Star Wars themed buckets have arrived at popcorn stands at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. They have also popped up on resale sites like Ebay, where they are being sold for as much as $75. That’s a 200% increase from the park price of $24.99. If you’re interested in what the Millennium Falcon popcorn holder looks like, see our write up of the new Star Wars popcorn holder here.

Rise of the Resistance Up and Down

The new Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been a huge success. So huge, getting on board has been an issue for some park goers. Due to big crowds, The Jotter is still recommending arriving to the park at least an hour before the gates open at 7 am to have the best chance at securing a boarding pass. Guests with higher boarding pass numbers may not get to ride if technical issues arise. The ride has been down at least twice over the last two days (watch the Kylo Ren animatronic freak out here). If you’re hoping to ride, plan accordingly.
